Minwax Interior Alkyd Wood Finish Stain

USE

• Recommended for furniture, woodwork, doors, floors, cabinets, and accessories

COVERAGE

• Half Pint (236 millilitres)- One coat of approximately 50 square feet of surface space 
• Quart (946 millilitres)- One coat of approximately 150 square feet of surface space

• *Coverage may vary depending on the surface porosity and texture*

SURFACE PREP

• Sand wood in the direction of the grain, first using medium grade sandpaper (ex. #120) and working your way to a finer grade (ex. #220). Remove all sanding dust before staining
• Pre-treat soft or porous woods such as pine, maple, alder, and birch. This will help the wood evenly absorb the stain colour. Apply Stain within 2 hours of pre-treatment

APPLICATION

• Use in a well-ventilated area
• Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use; apply 1-2 coats; second coat may be applied to darken the colour (for second coat: repeat application directions for first coat)
• Test stain on a hidden area or a piece of wood exactly the same as the one you are staining in order to verify the desired colour
• Apply stain in the direction of the grain with a brush, clean cloth, or foam applicator
• Let the stain penetrate for 5-15 minutes to ensure to ensure you achieve the desired colour
• Remove excess stain with a clean cloth. Wipe in the direction of the grain, wile blending light and dark areas to obtain uniform colour
• Keep container closed when not in use
• Keep out of reach of children
• It is recommended that anyone who is applying the product or present during application of this product, especially those who are asthmatic, follow the manufacturer's safety precautions
• It is recommended that pregnant women are not present when product is being applied and drying
  

DRYING

• Dries in 8 hours
• Can be recoated after 4-6 hours from first coat
• Humidity, temperature, or inadequate ventilation may prolong drying times

CLEAN UP & STORAGE

• Clean with mineral spirts or paint thinner
• In case of spillage, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations
• Wash thoroughly after handling
  
• When storing, tightly close container and store upside down
• Store in a well-ventilated area
• Do not store near heat, sparks, open flame, or other sources of ignition
• Protect from freezing
  
• Use completely or dispose of properly
