Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane Interior Varnish

USE

• Interior wood surfaces including furniture, cabinets, doors, and floors

COVERAGE

• Half Pint (236 millilitres)- One Coat of approximately 50 square feet of surface space
• Quart (946 millilitres)- One coat of approximately 150 square feet of surface space
• Gallon (3.79 litres)- One coat of approximately 400-600 square feet of surface space

• *Coverage may vary depending on the surface porosity and texture*

SURFACE PREP

• Surface must be dry and free of old finishes in poor condition, paint, wax, grease, polish, dirt, or other foreign matter
• Sand to obtain a smooth uniform finish
• Remove all dust with a cloth dampened with mineral spirits

APPLICATION

• Use in a well-ventilated area
  
• Always spot test on an inconspicuous area to ensure satisfactory results
• Stir thoroughly before and during use to eliminate settling on the bottom of the can
• Stir in such a manner as to rotate the product from the bottom to the top of the can.
• NEVER SHAKE
• Apply a thin coat.
• Let dry for 4-6 hours; then lightly sand entire surface with fine sandpaper (220 grit) to ensure an even finish and proper adhesion; remove all dust; apply a second coat
• If a third coat is desired, repeat above step before application of third coat
• 3 coats is recommended
• Product can be applied using a high-quality natural or foam brush
• Always test tackiness between coats; do not sand or re-coat when surface is tacky
• When used on wooden floors, use a lamb’s wool or synthetic pad applicator or natural bristle brush and maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks
• Slight ambering may be experienced when polyurethane is applied over light-coloured wood surfaces
• Keep container closed when not in use
• Keep out of reach of children
• It is recommended that anyone who is applying the product or present during application of this product, especially those who are asthmatic, follow the manufacturer's safety precautions
• It is recommended that pregnant women are not present when product is being applied and drying
  

DRYING

• Allow 4-6 hours between coats
• After final coat, allow 24 hours before light use
• Avoid heavy traffic and replacing furniture for 72 hours after final coat; do not slide furniture
• Do not install rugs or clean floors for 7 days after final coat
• Dry times are based on good ventilation, temperature of 25°C (77°F and 50% relative humidity
• Lower temperatures, higher humidity, lack of air movement, or application of thick coats will extend drying times

CLEAN UP & STORAGE

• For easy clean-up use mineral spirits or paint thinner
• In case of spillage, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations
• Wash thoroughly after handling
  
• When storing, tightly close container and store upside down
• Store in a well-ventilated area
• Do not store near heat, sparks, open flame, or other sources of ignition
• Protect from freezing
• Use completely or dispose of properly
