Benjamin Moore ARBORCOAT Premium Exterior Stain- Semi-Transparent (F638)

USE

• For wood decking, siding, fencing, shakes, and furniture
  
• May be applied to new, weathered or previously stained wood
• Ideal for softwoods like cedar and pine
• Not recommended for hardwood
• Can be applied to siding, new or previously coated with transparent stain

COVERAGE

• Gallon (3.79 litres)- One coat of approximately 200-400 square feet of surface space
• *Coverage may vary depending on the type, age, and texture of substrate as well as the application method*

SURFACE PREP

• On deck surfaces, remove the previous coating completely
• This product must be able to penetrate wood
• After prep is complete, test for penetration by applying a few drops of water to dry substrate
• If the water does not quickly penetrate, repeat prep
• Surfaces, including eaves and overhangs, must be clean and mildew free
• Mill glaze must be removed

APPLICATION

• Always test a small area for colour, penetration, and drying before proceeding
• In can, colour may differ from the final dried finish
• Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use
• Generally, one coat of stain is sufficient on properly prepared substrates
• A second coat of stain may be necessary on some surfaces to achieve desired colour
• Product can be applied by brush, roller pad applicator, or spray
• Roller application followed by back brushing is the recommended procedure
• Applying the finish too heavily will prevent optimum cure
• Use product when surface temperature is above 4.4°C (40°F)
• Do not apply in direct sunlight
• Keep container closed when not in use
• Keep out of reach of children
• It is recommended that anyone who is applying the product or present during application of this product, especially those who are asthmatic, follow the manufacturer's safety precautions
• It is recommended that pregnant women are not present when product is being applied and drying

DRYING

• Dries to touch in 30 minutes
• Can be recoated or top coated with clear after 1-3 hours
• When used as a deck stain, allow to dry for 24 hours before putting furniture back and returning the deck to service
• Humidity and temperature may prolong dry, recoat, and cure times

CLEAN UP & STORAGE

• Use soap and warm water; wash thoroughly after handling
• In case of spillage, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations
  
• When storing, tightly close container and store upside down
• Store in a well-ventilated area
• Do not store near heat, sparks, open flame, or other sources of ignition
• Protect from freezing
  
• Use completely or dispose of properly
