USE

• New and maintenance work.
• Use on properly prepared outdoor wood such as entrance doors, garage doors, window frames, and fibreglass doors
• Use on exotic hardwoods may affect coverage, dry time, and durability

COVERAGE

• Quart (946 millilitres)- One coat of approximately 100 square feet of surface space

• *Coverage may vary depending on the type, age, and texture of substrate as well as the application method*

SURFACE PREP

• All wood surfaces must be thoroughly clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, grime, mildew, mill glaze, and previous coatings before application
• Spray all wood surfaces with clean water, completely wetting the wood
• Apply a cleaning solution of 120g of 100% powdered Tri-Sodium Phosphate (TSP) or phosphate-free substitute in 1L of liquid bleach and 3L of water to the wood surfaces with a garden sprayer or a heavy nap roller cover
• Scrub surface with a hard bristle brush for 15-20 minutes to help remove mill glaze or weathering
• Rinse thoroughly with clean water
• Allow the surface to dry for 48-72 hours
• Sand all cleaned wood using 80-120 grit sandpaper
• Always sand in direction of the wood grain and remove sanding dust
• Exotic hardwoods exhibit a dense cell structure which may reduce the ability of a coating to penetrate the wood surface. Clean and prepare surface
• Immediately prior to applying coating, wipe surface with acetone
• Previous costings must be completely removed prior to application. Once coating is removed, clean and prepare surface

APPLICATION

• Before starting, test product on a small area
• Buy sufficient product for the whole job
• Stir thoroughly before and during application
• DO NOT THIN
• Apply when air and surface temperature is between 10°C (50°F) – 32°C (90°F)
• Do not apply in direct sunlight, if rain, snow, heavy dew, or low temperatures below 4°C (40°F) are expected within 48 hours
• Saturate all end grains, nail holes, and cracks in the wood
• Roller or spray application is not recommended
• Application using a natural bristle brush is the preferred method
• Apply evenly, in the direction of the grain avoiding heavy application
• To avoid lap marks, start at one edge and follow through to the end of each board, maintaining a wet edge
• Three coats of this product is required
• If coating a door; Coat all sides
• To maintain the products protective characteristics, apply a maintenance coat when visibly required; clean and prepare surface; apply one coat
• Keep container closed when not in use
• Keep out of reach of children
• It is recommended that anyone who is applying the product or present during application of this product, especially those who are asthmatic, follow the manufacturer's safety precautions
  It is recommended that pregnant women are not present when product is being applied and drying
  

DRYING

• Dries to touch in approximately 6 hours
• Dries to recoat in 24 hours
• Drying times tested at 25°C (77°F) with 50% relative humidity
• Low, temperature, high humidity, thick films, or poor ventilation will increase drying times
• Drying times may also be increased for the additional coats

CLEAN UP & STORAGE

• Clean tools immediately with mineral spirits
• In case of spillage, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations
• Wash thoroughly after handling
  
• When storing, tightly close container and store upside down
• Store in a well-ventilated area
• Do not store near heat, sparks, open flame, or other sources of ignition
• Protect from freezing
  
• Use completely or dispose of properly
