Coronado Rust Scat Alkyd Interior/Exterior Paint

USE
  • A durable rust preventative coating for metal substrates in commercial, institutional, and residential applications
  • Not recommended for immersion service
COVERAGE
  • Quart (946 millilitres)- One coat of approximately 100 square feet of wall space
  • Gallon (3.79 litres)- One coat of approximately 400 square feet of wall space
  • *Coverage may vary depending on the surface porosity and texture*

SURFACE PREP
  • SEE PRODUCT DATA SHEET FOR COMPLETE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
  • Surface must be clean, free from dirt, dust, grease, oil, wax, rust, mildew, and other foreign matter
  • Sand or scrape to remove loose, powdery, or peeling paint
  • Fill cracks and nail holes with patching compound
  • Glossy surfaces must be sanded
  • Remove rust by wire brushing, sanding, or scraping
  • Remove wax by solvent cleaning
PRIMING
  • This product can be used direct to metal on ferrous metal surfaces
  • Ferrous metal: for best corrosion resistance, use a rust inhibitive metal primer
  • Galvanized and non ferrous metals: use an acrylic bonding primer
APPLICATION
  • Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area
  • Stir thoroughly with a circular, lifting motion to secure even pigment dispersion; apply 2 coats
  • Product can be applied by:
    • Roller- use a short nap mohair cover
    • Brush- use a natural hair bristle brush for best results
    • Spray- may be sprayed using conventional or airless equipment
  • Thinning is not recommended
  • Apply only when surface and air temperatures are between 7.2°C to 35°C (45°F to 95°F)
  • Do not apply if rain is threatening or if the temperature is within 5 degrees of the dew point and falling
  • Keep container closed when not in use
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • It is recommended that anyone who is applying the product or present during application of this product, especially those who are asthmatic, follow the manufacturer's safety precautions
  • It is recommended that pregnant women are not present when product is being applied and drying
DRYING
  • Tack free in 1-2 hours
  • Recoat after 24 hours
  • Fully cures in 10 days
  • Humidity and temperature may prolong dry, recoat, and cure times
CLEAN UP & STORAGE
  • Tools and equipment should be cleaned with mineral spirits
  • In case of spillage, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations
  • Wash thoroughly after handling
  • When storing, tightly close container and store upside down
  • Store in a well-ventilated area
  • Do not store near heat, sparks, open flame, or other sources of ignition
  • Protect from freezing
  • Use completely or dispose of properly
