USE
  • Exterior bare wood vertical and horizontal surfaces; pine, spruce, treated wood, cedar, redwood, kiln dried wood, log, and even weathered for more than a year exotic wood
  • New and maintenance work
  • Recommended for Siding, Rails, Decks, Shakes, Shingles, Fences, Docks, Outdoor Furniture, and Logs
  • Apply to new, dry, pressure-treated wood or weathered uncoated wood
  • Use on exotic hardwoods may affect coverage, dry time, and durability
COVERAGE
  • Gallon (3.79 Litres)
    • Rough and weathered surfaces- one coat of approximately 150 to 200 square feet of surface space
    • Smooth surfaces or hardwoods- one coat of approximately 250 to 400 square feet of surface space
  • *Coverage may vary depending on the type, age, and texture of the wood as well as the application method*
SURFACE PREP
  • Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, grime, mildew, oil, loose wood fibres mill glaze, previous coatings, or other contaminants
  • Spray wood surface with clean water, completely wetting wood
  • Apply a cleaning solution (120g of 100% Tri-Sodium Phosphate in 1L of liquid bleach and 3L of water) to the wood surfaces with a garden sprayer or a heavy nap roller
  • Scrub surface with a hard bristle brush for 15-20 minutes to help remove mill glaze or weathering. Do not allow the cleaning solution to dry on the wood
  • power-wash wood surface clean with fresh water (500-800 psi with nozzle 8-12 inches away from surface)
  • allow surface to then dry for 48 hours
  • sand all cleaned wood
    • 80-120 grit sandpaper for vertical surfaces
    • 60-80 grit sandpaper for horizontal surfaces
  • Sand in the direction of the grain
  • Remove sanding dust
  • Finish should be applied within one week of preparation for horizontal surfaces and four weeks for vertical surfaces, provided that the surface remains clean and free of dirt, grease, grime, and mildew
APPLICATION
  • First apply to a small area and allow the stain to dry to ensure acceptable appearance and penetration
  • Stir thoroughly before and often during use; apply 1 coat
  • Apply in the direction of the grain, avoiding heavy application
  • Apply when air and surface temperatures are 10 to 32°C (50 to 90°F)
  • Do not apply in direct sunlight, if rain, snow, heavy dew, or low temperatures (below 4°C or 40°F) are expected within 48 hours
  • Product can be applied by brush, roller, or spray
  • Keep container closed when not in use
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • It is recommended that anyone who is applying the product or present during application of this product, especially those who are asthmatic, follow the manufacturer's safety precautions
  • It is recommended that pregnant women are not present when product is being applied and drying
DRYING
  • Dries to touch in 12 hours
  • Dry enough for light foot traffic in 48 hours
  • Dry enough for heavy foot traffic in 72 hours
  • Dry enough to replace furniture in 72 hours
  • Fully cures in 7 days
  • Drying times tested at 20°C (68°F) and 65% relative humidity
  • Humidity and temperature may prolong dry, recoat, and cure times
CLEAN UP & STORAGE
  • Remove as much product quantity as possible and clean tools with mineral spirits immediately after use
  • In case of spillage, absorb with inert material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations
  • Wash thoroughly after handling
  • When storing, tightly close container and store upside down
  • Store in a well-ventilated area
  • Do not store near heat, sparks, open flame, or other sources of ignition
  • Protect from freezing
  • Use completely or dispose of properly
